Höganäs Chocolate & Friends @ Skåne Food Fest 2025
A Weekend of Chocolate, Community and Craft at Skåne Food Fest 2025
In August 2025, Krapperups Slott became a meeting place for food lovers, producers, chefs, growers and chocolate makers from across the Nordic region and Europe.
For two days, Skåne Food Fest filled the beautiful grounds and kitchen garden at Krapperup with tastings, workshops, music, conversations and, of course, plenty of food and chocolate.
For us at Höganäs Chocolate, the weekend was especially meaningful because we had the pleasure of hosting the third edition of the Nordic Craft Chocolate Festival, a festival within the festival, bringing together craft chocolate makers from different parts of Europe in our own corner of Skåne.
Craft chocolate, shared knowledge and new connections
The Nordic Craft Chocolate Festival gave visitors the opportunity to meet chocolate makers directly, taste different styles of chocolate and learn more about what happens between cocoa bean and finished bar.
That is one of the things we love most about craft chocolate. The conversation may begin with flavour, but it quickly opens up into something much bigger: agriculture, fermentation, origin, technique, sustainability, craftsmanship and the people behind every step.
Over the course of the weekend, makers exchanged experiences and ideas, visitors asked questions about cocoa origins and flavour development, and chocolates from different producers were tasted side by side.
There was a real sense of curiosity everywhere.
Some visitors were discovering bean-to-bar chocolate for the first time, while others came with a deep interest in cocoa, pastry or gastronomy. Makers who usually work hundreds or thousands of kilometres apart suddenly found themselves standing at neighbouring tables, comparing techniques, discussing fermentation and sharing stories.
As hosts, it was a special feeling to welcome all our chocolate friends to Kullahalvön and to share a little of the place that Höganäs Chocolate calls home.
An unforgettable evening at Grand Hotel Mölle
One of the most memorable moments of the entire weekend happened in Mölle.
David and the team at Grand Hotel prepared a special dinner for the visiting chocolate makers, an evening designed around the idea that chocolate can have a place far beyond dessert.
Grand Hotel Mölle is a valued customer of Höganäs Chocolate, and we are incredibly proud that our chocolate is a regular part of their kitchen. Seeing David and his team work with it so creatively made the evening particularly meaningful for us.
The dinner challenged expectations from the beginning.
One of the standout dishes paired crayfish with white chocolate, showing how chocolate can work beautifully in savoury cooking when treated as an ingredient rather than simply something sweet. The combination was unexpected, elegant and remarkably balanced.
It was a perfect example of what happens when a chef understands both flavour and restraint.
Later in the sunset view came a dessert that none of us will forget: chestnut-shaped chocolate bonbons presented among real chestnut leaves, together with lamb, creating a beautiful tribute to the chestnut tree.
The presentation was playful and theatrical, but still refined. It was the kind of dish that makes everyone around the table stop for a moment before taking the first bite.
For a room filled with chocolate makers, creating that sense of surprise is no small achievement.
We are deeply proud and humbled to see Höganäs Chocolate used by chefs who push ingredients in new directions while respecting their character.
A huge thank you to David and the entire impeccable team at Grand Hotel Mölle for an evening we will remember for a very long time.
A festival that felt perfectly at home in Skåne
Being part of the wider Skåne Food Fest gave the Nordic Craft Chocolate Festival an atmosphere that felt particularly natural.
Throughout the weekend, visitors could move between local producers, food, drinks, music, tastings and workshops, all within the surroundings of Krapperup.
Craft chocolate fits beautifully into that world.
For Höganäs Chocolate, there was another layer to it as well.
Hosting an international craft chocolate gathering in Kullabygden therefore felt almost symbolic, connecting the agricultural roots of chocolate with the place where we practice our own craft.
The moments that stay with you
By the end of the weekend, what stood out most was not one single tasting, talk or dish, but the feeling created by all the small moments in between.
A tasting became a conversation.
A question became a new idea.
A shared table became a new friendship.
There were makers exchanging experiences long after the festival had closed for the day, visitors returning for one more taste, chefs discussing flavour combinations and people simply enjoying being together around something they cared about.
That is what made the weekend feel less like a traditional food fair and more like a gathering of people connected by curiosity, craftsmanship and a love of good food.
To everyone who stopped by, tasted chocolate, asked questions, shared a smile or took something home with them: thank you.
Your curiosity and support are what make events like this possible and what allow independent producers and craft businesses to continue doing what they love.
We are also incredibly grateful to the entire Skåne Food Fest team: Jennica, Hosting the Nordic Craft Chocolate Festival would not have been possible without your enthusiasm, hard work and constant support.
And then, almost as if Krapperup had planned one final moment for us, the weekend ended with a rainbow over the grounds.
After days filled with chocolate, inspiring conversations, extraordinary food, new friendships and plenty of laughter, it felt like the perfect farewell.
We left, grateful and inspired, and already looking forward to bringing everyone together again.
More chocolate, more conversations and more unforgettable moments to come.
